It seems that our NetBeans plugin that adds this functionality does not work correctly for you. Since you had problems with installation - this could be the issue - plugin was not installed correctly. Sometimes there are problems with permissions to write inside NetBeans folder. Try to set NetBeans folder +w to all and then try to reinstall Pogamut.
After installation go in NetBeans to Tools > Plugins. There click on the Installed tab, there should be some Pogamut plugins (category uncategorized). What is their status? What plugins do you have there?
If it does not work, than it will be probably pogamut/linux issue. Currently no one from the team is testing Pogamut on linux as far as I know. On windows the UT servers tab in services works ok.
