How do I know if a bot is playing?

I'm not 100% sure about this, but i'll ask it anyway.

I'm using the manual respawn in my code, and sometimes it seems like the respawn message get lost and the bot stays out of the game waiting (forever). I repeat, this might be my fault... but still, how can I understand with pogamut if the bot is in the game or it'is just connected but not playing?
