TEAM: The Team-oriented Evolutionary Adaptibility Mechanism

This article presents an attempt to enhance the team play of the group of agents. Human player plays often against the teams of computer-controled opponents. Thought those opponents are in general cooperating in very simple manner thus the believability of them and of their team work is quite low. Authors tried to apply some learning and evolutionary techniques to improve the feasibility of the team play of a group of agents.

Extending Cognitive Architecture with Episodic Memory

Description of the episodic memory module for SOAR. Episodic memory is increasingly interesting for the researchers in the area of intelligent virtual agents. The reason is obvious. Its use can enhance agent with new cognitive abilities and helps him with performing given tasks more plausibly.

Interactive Navigation in Complex Environments Using Path Planning

Creators of the site is claiming that they have developed a system for navigation of massive enviroments using path planning.
"""Our system provides the user with a "local driving mode" that keeps an avatar constrained to walkable surfaces in the model and a global path planner. Arbitrary configurations are specified by the user and a preprocessed graph is searched for a path between the configurations. The graph is generated using an algorithm based on the "visiblity" PRM technique and the runtime path following uses the local driving mode to move the user along the path."""

Games play an important role in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). They offer an environment to test ideas about human reasoning, problem solving and other human abilities. The ultimate goal of AI is to create an artificial man. Games offer the opportunity to create artificial players which are modeled after human beings. Playing the game, human beings can interact with these artificial creatures and experience how well these creatures show human-like behaviour.
